Everything is starting to seem a little flakey to me. I’m sure everyone has heard about Reggie Bush and his USC situation and how he gave his Heisman Trophy back. Honestly I feel those guys should be getting paid something more than a free college education anyway. You push them through with a degree in something they don’t really have a clue as to what they are going to do with anyway and a few injuries and tell them you may have a shot at the NFL.
The NFL had the same situation going on with their 2009 rookie of the year and gave the award back to the same person. Brian Cushing got caught with steroids in his system. I guess that’s not a big deal though and he went to USC too. They might want to go check their whole team out. I’ll bet if the NFL and NCAA go and do some serious testing and questioning they’ll find out a majority of those athletes took money and steroids before. I say pay the athletes after high school and then you can punish them for breaking the rules. Let me give you a job and let you work it with no pay for 4 years or more and see what all you do to get money and then tell you okay now you can interview and apply and we might give you the job.
I’m not saying it is right to do, but they can look up what these teams make a season and at these bowl games just like I can. Now that’s not right, work me for peanuts while you holding on to all the money. Who cares if college athletes get paid? Probably all the folks with zero athletic ability, it is hard work. So until you’ve done it don’t act like you know what is or isn’t needed to do the job.
